Madeline Sampson

Dr Sampson was born in Yorkshire and gained her radiology training in Sheffield and subsequently at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Madeline SampsonMiddlesex. She has over fifteen years specialist experience in the diagnosis of musculoskeletal disorders, and particularly in the use of image-guided interventional investigation and treatment - techniques that are highly specialized and demanding. Dr Sampson uses a wide range of radiology techniques including ultrasound, plain film radiology, fluoroscopy, CT and MR imaging to great benefit.

Dr Sampson is married to a Professor of Physics and spends most of her free time with her three sons. She enjoys sailing, warm water snorkeling and diving, and long walks in the Hampshire countryside.

Richard Blaquiere

After qualifying in medicine Dr Blaquiere gained experience and training in Manchester, Jamaica, Southampton, The Royal Marsden Hospital and New Zealand. He developed specialist knowledge of the then fledgling technique of Body CT and was appointed Consultant Radiologist to Southampton University Hospital to head the Wessex Body Scanner Unit in 1983. He has been closely involved in the development of MRI services in Southampton since.

Dr Blaquiere has extensive experience and expertise in CT and MR. He lectures regularly on these topics and is the author of numerous research papers and book chapters.

Leonard King

Dr Leonard King MB ChB FRCP FRCR Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist

Dr Leonard King Southampton Universities Hospitals NHS Trust, Spire Hospital Southampton, and Wessex Nuffield Hospital

Dr King trained in diagnostic Radiology at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London and subsequently as the MRI Fellow at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He is a former Army Consultant Adviser in Radiology with more than 12 years experience as a Musculoskeletal Radiologist. His specialist interests are MRI, trauma and sports injuries and he has published more than 20 papers and book chapters. He is a faculty member on several medical courses and has made numerous presentations at national and international conferences.
