Mr Cole works closely with a small team of specialist anaesthetists, all of whom are experienced in orthopaedic anaesthesia and specialist procedures such as an interscalene block.
Paul Dawson
Dr Paul Dawson has been an anaesthetist for over 14 years. After obtaining his first degree in microbiology at Bristol University he worked in clinical
laboratories for five years. He then went to study medicine at the University of Southampton. He subsequently trained in anaesthesia at the Wessex School of Anaesthesia and has special interests in acute pain, orthopaedic and obstetric anaesthesia. In the field of orthopaedic anaesthesia he concentrates on shoulder and hip work and is particularly interested in regional anaesthetic techniques to control post-operative pain.
Richard Heames
Dr Richard Heames gained his first medical qualification in 1993. As an anaesthetist, he has received supervised training
in all general, regional and local anaesthetic techniques. He is experienced in providing anaesthesia for elective and emergency general surgery, orthopaedics and trauma, plastics, maxillofacial surgery, dental, ENT, paediatrics, obstetrics, gynaecology, day case surgery, renal and neurosciences. He has been involved in providing an Acute Pain Service, regularly managing the daily Acute Pain Ward Rounds. He also has experience in techniques for post-operative pain relief and nerve blocks.
